7 Absolutely New Features Of Android 5.0 Lollipop

Google's latest Operating System till now is the Android 5.0 Lollipop. It has been since its release, loved and admired by thousands of smart-phone users all around the world. The only reason is its beauty blended with simplicity, and its quality of being user friendly and super easy to use and to master.

In this article, we'll cover 7 new features that are introduced in this new Android OS. Smooth animations, new accents, and an overall lighter color palette are just some of them. Let's have a deeper look:

1) New Initial Setup Menu

The first time you power on your device after installing that latest OS in it (or if you just bought a new device which comes with built-in Lollipop), you'll be surprised and be glad as well to see the modern initial setup menu which is just laudable:

2) Refurbished App Drawer & Home Screen

The new home screen not only looks a lot better but also dead clean, and easy to manage. With that the App Drawer is also now romanticized with windowed and framed format, and the default background color is also altered from black to white.

3) Tweaked Google Now Interface

Google Now has been updated to include a slide-out navigation drawer in the new Android Lollipop version.

4) Rejigged Lock Screen

The camera shortcut is still available at the bottom-right corner, but some changes have been added like a new Phone icon now sits opposite of it. The screen is unlocked by swiping upward, but swiping left or right from any point takes you directly to these commonly-used apps, now this GREAT!

5) New 'Recent Apps' Menu

The title bar on each of the recent apps can now be set to match a given app’s color scheme. This feature will require an update to existing 3rd-party apps, but is already included on most stock apps.

6) New Battery Options and Settings

Now, in Lollipop the background of Setting's menu is brighter. Simplified switches and green accents make it really cool and easy to understand for new users.

The battery submenu now displays remaining charge in hours and minutes, and a new Battery Saver feature restricts background processes to help squeeze up to an additional 90 minutes out of your device.

7) Renovated System Menus

Notifications have been re-imagined in Android 5.0, featuring a new “Head’s Up” mode that is really cool because it is guaranteed to not to nick your focus when you get an incoming call while playing a game or using any other application.
